The 24-inch imagePROGRAF PRO-2100 printer is made to go above and beyond what is expected of a large format printer in terms of image quality and colour consistency. A balance between exceptional print quality and speed is achieved through the use of a 1.28-inch wide 12-channel integrated compact print head, the LUCIA PRO ink set plus Chroma Optimizer, a high-precision mechanical platform, and the L-COA PRO high-speed image processing engine. The Pro-2100 provides intelligent media loading for media handling. When you insert the roll holder into the printer, the media is fed into the device automatically. To identify the media type, the integrated multi-sensor measures surface reflection and media thickness. A sub-ink tank system helps to prevent any ink waste by removing all of the ink from the tank before having to replace it, and the empty tanks can be changed without having to halt printing. Additionally, glossy and fine-art papers don't require switching when printing with matte black and photo black inks because they each have their own dedicated nozzles.
The three most frequently used commands — load, feed, and cut — have their own buttons below the operation panel for quick and simple access, and a 4.3" colour LCD touchscreen provides usability akin to a smartphone. A built-in 500GB hard drive boosts productivity by reducing the workload on the host Mac or Windows computer, and a built-in USB port enables direct printing of PDF and JPEG files without the need for a computer.
An imagePROGRAF printer can now load and recognise paper automatically for the first time ever. Just position the roll holder in the printer, and the media will feed into the print automatically. The PRO Series is made to function seamlessly across various media types. There is no need to manually switch between the ink tanks because the matte black and photo black inks each have their own specialized nozzles. The PF-10 produces quick print speeds while lowering the risk of clogging. It has a 1.28" wide print head with 18,432 nozzles and anti-clogging FINE technology. 27 sensors carefully monitor the ink ejection process, and if a clog is found, a backup nozzle will kick in.
Compared to earlier imagePROGRAF print heads, this one is wider, necessitating the use of just one print head rather than two. One print head means a smaller, more portable printer that can print more quickly without sacrificing print quality.
The L-COA PRO high-speed image processing engine powers the imagePROGRAF printers. This high-precision control engine processes enormous amounts of image data using three processing chips and regulates the best ink layout for high-resolution prints.
The purpose of the colour calibration function is to ensure accurate colour reproduction. The upgraded built-in colour densitometer in this printer provides accurate calibration and colour matching. You can maintain a small average colour difference between printers by accurately calibrating the sensor using a three-color LED and a condenser lens. After a few easy steps on the printer's control panel, the colour calibration is quickly completed. Adjustments are made to the other Canon-supported media using a single colour calibration that was completed with one kind of media.
Remote colour calibrations are possible with the Device Management Console software, which is great for fleet management. With this software, you can check the amount of ink left in the printers without ever leaving the comfort of your desk, receive email notifications when an error has occurred, or monitor the status of up to 50 printers from anywhere in the world.
The unibody design offers a solid foundation for a steady print head scanning, which leads to precise ink droplet placement. This new design achieves the ideal balance between printing quality and speed.
The optional Multifunction Roll System is a flexible media handling solution system that enables either the loading of the second roll of media onto the printer or the unit's configuration as a bi-directional media Take-up unit. It also makes use of Canon's new intelligent media handling.
Dual-Roll Feeding: This feature enables users to load a second roll of a different media type and size so they can switch from printing on matte to glossy paper at the same time without pausing their work to reload. Additionally, by allowing two rolls of the same media to be fed to the printer, the second roll can be used to support high-volume printing.
Bi-Directional Rewinding: The operator can also set up the Multifunction Roll System as a take-up unit to rewind longer printouts. Bi-directional rewinding is supported by the user's option to rewind media with the printed surface on the inside or outside of the roll.
On the imagePROGRAF PRO-2100, PDF and JPEG files can be printed directly from USB thumb drives. Just insert the thumb drive into the printer's USB port, view the image on the control panel, and press print! Without a computer, printing is quick and simple.
You have the choice to buy ink based on your printing requirements because it comes in 160ml, 330ml, and 700ml ink tanks. You have the option to purchase ink based on the colour frequency at which you print, with 700ml photo black ink tanks available for those who frequently print nightscapes and 160ml magenta ink tanks for the occasional image of a sunset.
The Sub-Ink Tank System helps prevent ink waste by allowing a tank's available ink to be used up completely before needing to be replaced. Without pausing the printer, the empty tanks can also be changed on the fly. This will come in very handy for those lengthy print jobs.

Use this print utility to nest, tile, and create custom layouts before printing your files. To print directly from Microsoft Office programs, use the plug-in feature.
Printing large-format documents produced in Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint is made simple by this tool. The Plug-in has an easy-to-use "Wizard" and appears in a tool bar inside the Microsoft application. To make printing easier, the Plug-in will omit the printer driver. Your 8.5" x 11" office document is changed to poster size in a few easy steps.
Canon has created a Media Configuration Tool that enables users to not only use Canon-branded media but also to modify printer settings to improve the precision and quality of output obtained with third-party media, taking into account the expanding range of media options for large format printers and further improving the versatility of these new imagePROGRAF models.
