ROLAND VersaArt RS-640 (RS640) Eco-Solvent Inkjet Printer

The VersaArt RS series of four-color CMYK wide-format inkjet printers was launched today by Roland DG Corporation, a major global supplier of wide-format inkjet printers and integrated print/cutters. The VersaArt series, which uses the most recent eco-solvent inkjet technology from Roland, provides performance, productivity, and image quality unmatched by any other printer line in its category. VersaArt printers come in two models—the 64" RS-640 and include VersaWorks professional RIP software for precise colour management.

VersaArt is a versatile production tool for a variety of uses, including precise design comps, posters, and huge, long-lasting outdoor signs and banners. VersaArt offers print speeds of up to 21.4m2/hr (230.3 sqft/hr), producing vibrant colours and unmatched image quality thanks to Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology and ECO-SOL MAX ink.

High-value, high-quality production printing

The VersaArt RE-640 64-inch inkjet printer features variable dot control and the most recent print head technology available in the market. Its distinctive construction generates drops in seven different sizes that bring out all of the subtle details in your image. The banding that occurs during bi-directional printing is virtually eliminated by a dual CMYK, mirrored ink configuration (CMYKKYMC). Roland Intelligent Pass Control improves image quality by reducing ink bleed at each pass's edge. As a result, even in the fastest print mode of 248 sqft/hr (23.1 sqm/hr), you get high-density printing with rich, saturated colours, lovely photographic reproductions, smooth gradations, and superb contrast.

Powerful Eco-SOL MAX ink produces vibrant, durable graphics

Eco-SOL MAX ink performs on both coated and uncoated media, including backlit film, offering high colour density and a wide gamut. Eco-SOL MAX creates prints that dry quickly for simple handling throughout the production and finishing processes. It is also scratch-resistant. Eco-SOL MAX comes in easy, no-mess 220 mL and 440 mL cartridges and is nearly odorless for maximum comfort and convenience.

Advanced media handling and drying systems

The VersaArt RE-640 supports media rolls up to 88 lbs. and ensures precision media feeding over extended production runs. Wide-ranging media can be used with a built-in two-stage integrated heater system, which also precisely controls the right amount of heat for each application. Unattended roll-to-roll printing is possible with an optional take-up system.

You can track production remotely with Roland support, which offers an online production monitor that sends email updates when ink levels are low or a print job is finished.

Energy Star Certified

The Energy Star-certified RE-640 uses a typical household electrical outlet to run without the need for an additional power source. The Eco-Label system from Roland, an ISO 14021 Type II label that attests to compliance with an organization's internal environmental standards, has also approved VersaArt technology.
